I’m the kind of person who has more ideas than time or money to see those ideas become reality.
For instance, I’ve been thinking about how to redo the playroom floor. Not that we’re planning to do that anytime soon – first we need to finish redoing the kitchen and dining room floors.
After that we plan to rip up the carpet in the living room, up the steps, and maybe the upstairs hallways too. The play room would be last, since there’s no element of surprise – we already know there’s yucky tile under there.
But in the meantime I can’t help but wonder what the best flooring in the playroom would be. Carpet is softer and warmer for the children to play on, but harder to keep clean. “Hard” flooring like wood or vinyl would be easier to keep clean, but not as soft or warm to play on.
Luckily I don’t have to make that decision any time soon! And in the meantime, I’ve found an article listing a bunch of different flooring options. I’d never considered rubber flooring, but that might be a good choice since it’s easier to clean than carpet, yet softer than vinyl or hardwood. And it apparently absorbs noise, which would definitely be a bonus!
I’ll let you know when I make a decision… Which won’t be for a while since we have all those other floors to do first!
