I Have a Confession

Mother of the Bride Dress on HangerI have a confession to make. I am in love with this dress.

Mother of the Bride Dress - Sheer SleevesI love the sexy, sheer sleeves that cover my jiggly arms.

Mother of the Bride Dress - BodiceI love the wrapped bodice that defines my waist and hides my post-six-babies belly.

Mother of the Bride Dress - SkirtI love the swishy skirt that makes me feel like Cinderella at the ball.

Mother of the Bride Dress - I Look WeirdI love how it looks fantastic, even when I look weird. I have no idea what I was doing here. If you have any idea please let me know as soon as possible. Thank you.

Mother of the Bride Dress - Dancing with TeacherBut mostly I love it because every time I think of it, I think of this.

I love you Teacher.

  1. Jiggly arms? I didn’t know you had jiggly arms! I didn’t know you had six kids either. Looking good!

That dress would make me feel wonderful, too. Especially, if I had a great guy to dance with me in it. I do have to go along with the swishy. I like swishy.

I got a closer glimpse of the front of the wedding gown, or perhaps took more time to look. Looking very nice. And, in that particular shot, maybe someone called your name and you’re going, “Huh?” Just a thought.

    • Karen,

Jiggly arms are the bane of every woman I know over 30. At least they’re not fat-jiggly, just flab-jiggly – that’s not quite as bad, right?

Swishy is good – very good! There are times I wish I’d been born in the Victorian era so I could wear swishy dresses every day. Then I remember the health care and all the rules, and there wouldn’t be any computers or internet, and am happy to be in the 20th century.

There’s a reason why I like to be behind the camera instead of in front of it – I always seem to be making weird faces or taking a huge bite of food, or something weird.

      Thanks for the comment!

  2. My mom doesn’t allow pictures of her chewing food.

I like those eras, too, but they had to wear way too many layers of clothes. Love Gone with the Wind, but Scarlette, for heaven’s sake take off those petticoats… You break all the others rules!

Because of the clothes and accessories and music, I should be in the 30s or 40s. I do like the more modern conveniences though.

    • Your mom is a very wise women.

I think living in the 50s would be cool – I’d love to be a June Cleaver stay-at-home-mom and just worry about raising my kids and taking care of the house. But then I’d have to cook (ugh) and I like the modern conveniences better too.

I like music from all eras, it comes from being a music major… or maybe I chose to be a music major because I love all kinds of music. I guess it’s like the chicken and egg thing – you can’t tell which came first. 😉
