Goodbye Dear Via

Via Venezia - MachineIt was six years ago when Via entered my life. For me, it was love at first sight. He was everything I ever wanted – maybe he wasn’t very tall, but he was definitely dark and I thought he was handsome.

Since that first day he’s always been there for me.

Via Venezia - LatteWhen I was cold Via would warm me up.

When I was sleepy he’d energize me.

Via Venezia - Iced CoffeeWhen I was hot he’d cool me down.

When I was having a bad day Via would turn things around.

I knew I could always count on Via to be there for me – hot or cold, rain or shine, for better or worse, in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer Oops, got a little carried away there, but you get the point. I relied on Via and looked forward to our time together each day.

Then a little while ago I noticed something was wrong. Via just wasn’t himself. He was still dark and handsome, but he was starting to slow down and his industrious hum was more of a growl. I didn’t know what was wrong, so I turned to Google for answers.

Google came through with suggestions that helped for a while, but I’d seen the writing on the wall. I knew our relationship wasn’t going to last forever.

Then one day, it finally happened. Via slowed to a crawl, made a terrible grinding sound, then just stopped.

It was the end of the road for dear Via.

I didn’t know what to do! I knew this day would come, but I wasn’t prepared. How would I wake up in the morning? What would I do when I go hot, or cold, or had a bad day?

Why, oh why did I take Via for granted?

What am I going to do now?
